We, the family that is A & W Bearings, are not only proud of our success in the bearing and power transmission industry; we are proud of the many other areas in which we serve and excel. Just take a look for yourself.
Our founders, Arthur & Winnie Hensarling, owned a ranch in East Texas on which Arthur built one of only two covered bridges existing in the State of Texas for his bride, Winnie. The bridge was an exact replica of Winnie’s favorite New England covered bridge. The ranch, which has been in the family for decades, and the bridge remain in the family today.
Arthur was known for giving a crisp, new $2.00 bill to any visitor to his office.
Our employees have many varied interests and hobbies. A & W folks pursue art and photography, as well as golfing and long distance bicycling. Among our team we have a stock car racer, a custom motorcycle builder and a very rabid NASCAR fan.
You can find one of our people enjoying her Cowboys’ season ticket spot during the Fall, as well as a couple of very good high school or college basketball officials in area gyms if you are a basketball fan. We have a very successful amateur softball player among us.
A & W people raise horses and rear children and grandchildren. We support gymnastics, artistic endeavors and a list of other activities of our families. On Fridays during football season we have “Support Your favorite Team Day” and each of our employees can wear the colors of his or her favorite football team.
We also do our civic duty. If you are lucky enough to visit our Dallas location on the right day, you might get treated to watch the K-9 unit of the Dallas Police Department training in our warehouse. We are proud to allow them to train so that our communities can all be better protected.
